Arfan Bhatia has been shortlisted in The Legal Aid Lawyer of the Year Awards 2020 in the Best Newcomer category. The Legal Aid Lawyer of the Year awards are organised by the Legal Aid Practitioners Group on a non-profit-making basis, and were launched in 2003
Arfan qualified as a Solicitor in January 2015 and joined Oliver Fisher’s Social Housing Department in July 2017.
Clients have consistently relied upon his genuine thirst to reach out, and his vast experience in homelessness law. Arfan has successfully challenged decisions by local authorities at both internal review and Judicial Review in the High Court that has made him very popular with his clients.
He also participates in numerous outreach sessions and volunteers his Saturdays to the Community Advie Project (Ealing Race Equality Council) providing legal advice to the Community and training to law students at the University of West London.
More recently he has been campaigning and promoting Landlord & Tenant solutions. Working tirelessly alongside Landlords; he has once again found a niche within his field and is providing essential services to independent and collective landlords.External
Activities Outside of work
Arfan is a tech-geek and you often see him popping up online with tech review or legal journals. He enjoys frequenting the countryside with his wife. BBQ’s are a passion; he could be mistaken for an Aussie but often weather gets in the way.
